In February 2003, I presented a paper at the Faculty’s Development Day which reported on theoutcomes of th<strong>is</strong> study trip. <strong>It</strong> was in th<strong>is</strong> paper that I suggested <strong>to</strong> colleagues that we ought <strong>to</strong>start making better educational use of the mobile ‘nodes’ we all carried in our pockets.A second outcome of th<strong>is</strong> process was internal secondment <strong>to</strong> the role of Direc<strong>to</strong>r of Learning<strong>and</strong> Teaching with ICT in the Faculty.
