<strong>of</strong> architectural finishes and materials<br />

commercial interiors. Content areas<br />

include study <strong>of</strong> coatings and various<br />

―hard‖ materials such as st<strong>one</strong>, glass,<br />

tile, etc. that may be used in both<br />

functional and decorative applications,<br />

whether applied to furnishings or<br />

surface areas <strong>of</strong> a building envelope.<br />

The lecture-style class format may also<br />

include small application projects, guest<br />

speakers, or field trips to product<br />

This course provides the fundamental<br />

fiber and fabric information needed to<br />

methods, as well as dyeing, printing,<br />

and the estimating process. Textile<br />

applications and performance are<br />

emphasized relative to flammability,<br />

weathering, and building codes.<br />

This class covers contemporary theory<br />

and technique in the design and<br />

construction <strong>of</strong> residential and small<br />

commercial buildings as related to<br />

structural systems, HVAC, and<br />

mechanical systems, acoustics and the<br />

This course introduces basic skills the<br />

student needs to operate the Auto-<br />

CAD computer-aided drafting<br />

program. Students learn the menu<br />

structure <strong>of</strong> Auto CAD and its basic<br />

operations, such as draw, text and<br />

modify commands. Students are<br />

expected to set up and plot twodimensional<br />

floor plans and elevations.<br />

The details, drawings, and furniture<br />

These include cabinetry details,<br />

drawings, and models. A chair or table<br />

is designed and constructed with basic<br />
