gallery work and museum collections<br />
and those who are preparing for future<br />
opportunities in exhibiting their own<br />
work. It is structured as a shared<br />
research and gallery practicum course<br />
that directs a critical lens on the use<br />
and function <strong>of</strong> exhibition space and<br />
the museum and gallery as spatial<br />
material and framework for culture.<br />

Site and Space<br />

This course stresses advanced work in<br />
the concepts and techniques involved<br />
in making 2-D and 3-D works <strong>of</strong> art<br />
that respond to the issues <strong>of</strong> site and<br />
space. Students are introduced to<br />
pertinent contemporary artworks and<br />
are required to be innovative in their<br />
own art making. For advanced work in<br />
Site Space, this course can be "stacked‖<br />

This course introduces students to a<br />
wide range <strong>of</strong> alternative, experimental<br />
and historic photographic processes<br />

Bichromate printing. Students will learn<br />
to achieve stunning and unique<br />
photographic effects utilizing these<br />
unusual techniques. In addition to<br />

process <strong>of</strong> his or her choice.<br />

Internship<br />

Studio Art and Photography<br />
internships consist <strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong>f-campus<br />
fieldwork based on a learning contract<br />
signed <strong>by</strong> the student, agency<br />
supervisor, and faculty sponsor. An<br />
orientation session is required prior to<br />
fieldwork. Work is supervised <strong>by</strong> the<br />
program field work director and a<br />
faculty adviser. A written evaluation <strong>of</strong><br />
the experience is required <strong>of</strong> the<br />
student and the agency. The student<br />
develops a written document that<br />
synthesizes the internship and academic<br />
