that not only apply to <strong>the</strong> specific cases but can be amplified for broader use. To explore alternative<br />

solutions, <strong>SEI</strong> experts have collaborated with researchers in Carnegie Mellon’s School <strong>of</strong><br />

Computer Science, Robotics Institute, Department <strong>of</strong> Electrical and Computer Engineering, and<br />

<strong>the</strong> CyLab Biometrics Center.<br />

The major <strong>SEI</strong> contribution is <strong>the</strong> increased ability to convict cybercriminals. The three largest<br />

cases prosecuted by <strong>the</strong> U.S. Department <strong>of</strong> Justice were direct results <strong>of</strong> <strong>SEI</strong> technology that supports<br />

law enforcement analysts.<br />
