<strong>SEI</strong> adapted <strong>the</strong> Personal S<strong>of</strong>tware Process (PSP) and <strong>the</strong> Team S<strong>of</strong>tware Process (TSP) for academic<br />
use, and supported delivery <strong>of</strong> a series <strong>of</strong> summer workshops for faculty that taught faculty<br />
PSP and TSP techniques and engaged <strong>the</strong>m in s<strong>of</strong>tware process curriculum design [Hilburn 2002].<br />
Most recently, <strong>the</strong> <strong>SEI</strong> has managed a project for <strong>the</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> Homeland Security to improve<br />
<strong>the</strong> state <strong>of</strong> s<strong>of</strong>tware assurance practices by providing curriculum guidance in s<strong>of</strong>tware assurance<br />
principles, methods, and practices (http://www.cert.org/mswa/).<br />
The <strong>SEI</strong> Contribution<br />
The <strong>SEI</strong> was a key player in <strong>the</strong> advancement <strong>of</strong> undergraduate s<strong>of</strong>tware engineering education.<br />
The <strong>SEI</strong> and <strong>the</strong> WGSEET acted as s<strong>of</strong>tware engineering education catalysts, providing forums<br />
for communication about education issues and supporting and motivating development <strong>of</strong> course<br />
modules, curriculum guidance, position papers, and technical reports [Bagert 1999b, Ford 1994,<br />
1996, Hilburn 1999, Mead 2010, 2011, Shaw 2005]. While much <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> work was accomplished<br />
by <strong>the</strong> stakeholders, it was <strong>the</strong> <strong>SEI</strong> impetus and leadership that accelerated <strong>the</strong> activity.<br />
