Eine Besonderheit des Incoming-Programms ist die
Möglichkeit, sowohl im Februar als auch im August ein
soziales Jahr beginnen zu können. Liegt ein besonderes
anthroposophisches und/oder waldorfpädagogisches
Anliegen vor, bietet die sechsmonatige Verlängerung
des Dienstes Incoming-Freiwilligen die Möglichkeit für
einen gut vorbereiteten, nahtlosen Übergang in die
Ausbildung.
Ein Freiwilligendienst macht die Verbindung von Helfen
und Lernen zu einem besonderen Jahr in der Entwicklung
meist junger Menschen, denn der interkulturelle
Austausch, das soziale Engagement sowie die zwischenmenschlichen
Begegnungen geben Raum für persönliche
Entwicklung und Orientierung. Für die Einsatzstellen bedeutet
die Aufnahme von Freiwilligen nicht nur die tatkräftige
Unterstützung durch junge Erwachsene in allen
Bereichen, sondern auch die Chance, neue Ideen und Lebenswelten
kennen zu lernen.
Und die Nachfrage nach Möglichkeiten zum Engagement
wächst. Um das Interesse bedienen zu können, sind die
«Freunde» auf der Suche nach weiteren Kooperationen
mit anthroposophischen Einrichtungen weltweit.
Voraussetzung für die aufnehmenden Institutionen ist
ein waldorfpädagogischer und/oder anthroposophischer
Hintergrund. Die BewerberInnen durchlaufen
einen ausführlichen Auswahl- und Beratungsprozess.
Dabei liegt die Personalentscheidung am Ende bei den
Einrichtungen. Die «Freunde» unterstützen die Einsatzstellen
selbstverständlich bei sämtlichen administrativen
Fragen sowie bei der Vor- und Nachbereitung des
Freiwilligendienstes.
Während ihres Dienstes werden die Freiwilligen von den
Freunden der Erziehungskunst begleitet, dazu gehören
auch verpflichtende Seminare vor, während und nach
dem Dienst. Die Seminare beinhalten u.a. eine Einführung
in die Anthroposophie und den Austausch über
spezifische Arbeitsanforderungen in der Sozialtherapie
und Heilpädagogik sowie Spezialthemen, wie beispielsweise
politische Bildung.

openness to the German way of living and working.
A unique aspect of the Incoming Programme is the
possibility to start a volunteer year both in February
as well as in August. If a volunteer is especially interested
in anthroposophy and /or Waldorf-pedagogy,
a 6-month extension of the service offers the Incoming
volunteer the possibility to prepare for a seamless
transition into training.

The connection of helping and learning turns a volunteer
service into a special year in the development
of most young people, because the intercultural exchange,
social engagement and also interpersonal interactions
offer opportunity for personal development
and orientation. For the host institution, taking on volunteers
means not only energetic support from young
adults in all areas, but also the chance to learn about
new ideas and different ways of life.
And the demand for such engagement possibilities
grows. In order to meet this interest, the Friends of
Waldorf Education is looking to expand their cooperation
with anthroposophical institutions worldwide.
Requirements for host institutions are a Waldorf pedagogical
and/or anthroposophical background and the
ability to offer applicants a continuing and complete
selection and advising process. To that end, the final
decision on which volunteer(s) to accept lies with the
host institution. The Friends of Waldorf Education naturally
supports the host institutions in answering any
administrative questions and in preparation for and
follow-up to the volunteer service.
During the service, the volunteers will be accompanied
by the Friends of Waldorf Education. Included in
this are required seminars, before, during, and after the
volunteer service. The seminars address, among other
topics, an introduction to anthroposophy and information
about specific job requirements in social therapy
and curative education as well as addressing special
themes like political education.
