Das alles hat in Wien seinen Ausgang genommen und
insofern ist es erklärlich, dass Österreich heute über
ein ansehnliches Spektrum an anthroposophischen
heilpädagogischen Einrichtungen verfügt. Die anthroposophische
Heilpädagogik und Sozialtherapie ist 90
Jahre nach dem Heilpädagogischen Kurs von Rudolf
Steiner in Österreich etabliert und anerkannt.
Drei heilpädagogische Schulen, neun sozialtherapeutische
Einrichtungen, zwei Ausbildungsstätten
und ein Elternverein arbeiten unter dem österreichischen
Dachverband PlatO – Plattform anthroposophischer
therapeutischer Organisationen. PlatO ist
das Bindeglied zur Konferenz für Heilpädagogik und
Sozialtherapie in der Medizinischen Sektion der Freien
Hochschule für Geisteswissenschaft am Goetheanum
in Dornach/Schweiz.
Einige anthroposophisch orientiert arbeitende Initiativen,
die nicht dem Dachverband PlatO beigetreten
sind, stehen in einem guten Verhältnis zu den anderen
Einrichtungen. Die beiden Rudolf-Steiner-Seminare
für Heilpädagogik und Sozialtherapie in Breitenfurt
bei Wien und in Graz bilden SozialbetreuerInnen für
die Begleitung von Menschen mit Behinderung bzw.
SozialtherapeutInnen und HeilpädagogInnen für alle
Institutionen aus. Die Einrichtungen gedeihen und
wirken positiv anregend auf das Umfeld.
Die drei Schulen haben jede für sich ein eigenes Profil
entwickelt, aber alle auf der Grundlage der Waldorfpädagogik.
Das sind die Karl Schubert Schulen in Wien, in
Graz und die Paracelsus Schule Salzburg.
Die verschiedenen sozialtherapeutischen Einrichtungen,
von denen die Mehrzahl an biologisch-dynamischen
Bauernhöfe angegliedert sind, verteilen sich auf
Kärnten, Steiermark, Niederösterreich, Oberösterreich
und Salzburg. Es werden insgesamt ca. 500 seelenpflegebedürftige
Menschen in diesen Organisationen

den Rahmen sprengen würde, weise ich auf
einen ausführlichen historischen Bericht von Frau Ulrike
Wenniger hin, den sie 2014 verfasst hat und der in
der Zeitschrift «Wegweiser Anthroposophie» publiziert
wurde. Darin finden sich eine schöne Beschreibung und
Charakterisierung der einzelnen Initiativen und auch
eine Erwähnung der einzelnen Persönlichkeiten, die
tatkräftigt für die Impulse gesorgt haben.

are established and recognized in Austria.
Three schools offering curative education, nine
social therapy centres, two training centres and a
parents’ association are all members of the umbrella
organization PlatO – Platform for anthroposophical
therapeutic Organizations. PlatO is
Austria’s link to the Curative Education and Social
Therapy Council, which is part of the Medical Section
of the School of Spiritual Science at the Goetheanum
in Dornach, Switzerland.
The anthroposophically oriented initiatives which
are not PlatO members have a good relationship
with the other centres. The two Rudolf Steiner training
seminars for Curative Education and Social
Therapy, one in Breitenfurt near Vienna and the
other in Graz, train social care workers to support
people with special needs as well as social therapists
and curative teachers to work in any of our institutions.
These centres are thriving and have a positive
and inspirational effect on their environment.
The three schools – the Karl Schubert Schools in Vienna
and Graz and the Paracelsus School in Salzburg
– have developed their own individual identity, but
they are all based on Waldorf Education.
The various social therapy centres, most of which are
attached to biodynamic farms, are spread out across
Carinthia, Styria, Lower Austria, Upper Austria and
Salzburg. Around 500 people with special needs are
being looked after in these organizations.
In recent years, the anthroposophical curative education
and social therapy movement in Austria has
worked on the following issues:
• In 2008 a monitoring committee was formed in Austria
for the implementation of the UN Convention
on the Rights of People with Disabilities. The
question of inclusion was also taken up by the government
of Lower Austria and discussed within
the various institutions.
• In the Vienna area and in Lower Austria two growing
centres, LebensArt and the village community in
Breitenfurt, are receiving positive feedback and
