Die Schule versorgt 20 Menschen mit insgesamt zwölf
Mitarbeitern in der Unterstützungsgruppe. Agualinda
liegt in einem Vorort der Hauptstadt Bogota und legt
grösseres Gewicht auf die sozialtherapeutische Komponente.
Auf einer Farm, eine Stunde von der Hauptstadt
entfernt gelegen, werden seit drei Jahren im Sinne des
Camphill-Gedankens sechs Personen von sieben Mitarbeitern
betreut. Andere Einrichtungen, Einzelpersonen
und unabhängige Programme bieten heilpädagogische
oder sozialtherapeutische Dienste an, was die Gesamtzahl
der in diesem Berich arbeitenden Menschen auf
landesweit 150 Personen bringt.
In Kolumbien herrscht seit 68 Jahren Krieg. Viele Variablen
des Konflikts, eine extrem ungleiche Vermögens- und
Chancenverteilung und die Korruption innerhalb der Regierung
sind nur einige der Bedingungen, die unser Leben
beeinflussen – auch das Leben von seelenpflegebedürftigen
Menschen. Fehlende finanzielle Regierungsförderung
zusammen mit den Erfordernissen bürokratischer
Vorschriften charakterisieren die Einstellung des Staates
gegenüber den pädagogischen und therapeutischen
Grundsätzen der Heilpädagogik und Sozialtherapie. Ausserdem
ist es schwierig, qualifiziertes Personal auf diesem
Gebiet zu finden und vielfältige Hürden stehen der
Einführung von Methoden im Hochschulsektor im Weg,
die nicht als traditionell angesehen werden.
Trotzdem bestehen die Pioniere entgegen allen Erwartungen
weiter. Härten wurden bewältigt und obgleich
eine Einrichtung aufgeben musste, hat die Flamme der
Heilpädagogik und Sozialtherapie sich in den Händen
einer mutigen und standhaften Gruppe von Kämpfern
erhalten. Das Schicksal blies seinen Anteil an Solidarität
von europäischen Einzelpersonen der entstehenden
Bewegung zu. Andere leisteten einen Beitrag zur Pflege
der sich entwickelnden Keime aus der Perspektive der
Waldorfpädagogik. 2014 wurde der erste Versuch eines
von der Konferenz für Heilpädagogik und Sozialtherapie
unterstützten Schulungsprogramms mit über 40 Teilnehmern
erfolgreich abgeschlossen. Viele Kolumbianer
waren Mitarbeitende oder Auszubildende in Europa,
haben ihr Wissen zurückgebracht und damit unsere Entwicklung
bereichert. In diesem Jahr fand ein lateinamerikanischer
Kongress für Jugendliche und Erwachsene
mit Beeinträchtigung statt und stellte einen weiteren erfolgreichen
Schritt in der Entwicklung von Heilpädagogik
und Sozialtherapie in unserem Land dar. Soeben ist die
erste Umfrage über Heilpädagogik und Sozialtherapie
abgeschlossen worden, die klar den Willen der Befragten

The school serves 20 individuals, with 12 staff in
total in its support group. Agualinda, in a suburb of
Bogota, the capital, places more emphasis on the Social
Therapy component. Located on a farm less than
an hour from the city, it has been in existence for three
years and their Camphill style life and work serves six
persons, who are being taken care of by seven staff
members. Other institutions, individuals, and independent
programmes offer certain CEST services, bringing
the total of people involved to an estimated 150 individuals
nationwide.
Colombia has been at war for 68 years. Many variables
within the conflict, an extremely unequal distribution
of wealth and opportunities, and a high level of governmental
corruption are only some of the conditions
that have affected all aspects of our life – the lives of
individuals in need of special care of the soul not being
an exception. Lack of governmental financial support,
on top of the demands of bureaucratic regulations,
have characterized the state’s position towards the pedagogical
and therapeutic tenets CEST entails. In addition,
it remains difficult to find qualified personnel in
the field, and an abundance of obstacles get in the way
of trying to introduce into the higher education sector
any methods that may be deemed far from traditional.
Nevertheless, pioneers have survived against all odds.
Hardships were overcome, and though one institution
disappeared in the process, the flame of CEST has prevailed
in the hands of a group of courageous and dedicated
warriors. Destiny blew its share of solidarity from
European individuals to the nascent movement as well
as others who contributed to looking after the growing
seeds from the perspective of Waldorf Education.
In 2014, the first attempt at a training programme
supported by CEST Council was successfully concluded
with over 40 participants. Many Colombians have become
co-workers in Scotland, Germany, and elsewhere,
and have brought back their new knowledge to
enrich our development. Others have pursued formal
education abroad to do the same. In March this year,
a Latin-American Congress for Youth and Adults with
Special Talents was held in Cali and constituted another
successful step in the development of CEST in our
country. At the time of writing this, the first national
survey on Curative Education and Social Therapy has
been completed, clearly spelling out the respondent’s
will to pursue bigger and better achievements in organizational,
educational, financial, and social terms.
