Italy
In Italien gibt es acht heilpädagogische Einrichtungen
und Initiativen, vier ambulante heilpädagogische Praxen,
elf an Waldorfschulen angeschlossene heilpädagogische
Gruppen und zwei Ausbildungsstätten.
Die Heilpädagogik
Infolge des Inklusionsgesetzes aus dem Jahr 1971 sind in
Italien heilpädagogische Einrichtungen und Sonderklassen
verboten. Nur einige kleinere Werkstätten und Arbeitsgruppen
für behinderte Kinder in staatlichen oder privaten
Schulen oder auch in Beratungszentren konnten weiterhin
bestehen. Es gibt etwa elf Waldorfschulen in ganz Italien,
die eine heilpädagogische Initiative begleiten, doch es besteht
immer wieder die Gefahr, dass Anklage wegen der
Führung «unerlaubter Sonderklassen» erhoben wird, wie
jüngst an einer Mailänder Waldorfschule.
Das Interesse für die anthroposophische Heilpädagogik
wächst in den letzten Jahren kontinuierlich. Viele Studierende
besuchen zurzeit die zwei anthroposophischen
heilpädagogischen Seminare in Italien, zu den Tagungen
melden sich Teilnehmende aus ganz Italien an und die
Nachfrage für Beratungen ist stark gewachsen.
Einen frischen Impuls hat die vor fünf Jahren neu gegründete
«Associazione per la Pedagogia Curativa e
Socioterapia Antroposofiche» (Gesellschaft für die Anthroposophische
Heilpädagogik und Sozialtherapie in
Italien) gebracht, um ein Netz zwischen allen schulischen
heilpädagogischen Initiativen aufzubauen. Es
wurde eine Koordinationsgruppe ins Leben gerufen, die
sich jeden zweiten Monat trifft und die die gemeinsame
Arbeit der heilpädagogischen und der soziotherapeutischen
Institutionen unterstützt, indem regelmässige
Tagungen und Weiterbildungen organisiert sowie Öffentlichkeitsarbeit
betrieben werden.
Ein wichtiges Element brachte kürzlich der Wissenschaftler
Pietro Crispiani mit seinem Buch «Storia della pedagogia
speciale» (Geschichte der Sonderpädagogik) ein,
in dem neben der Biografie mehrerer wichtiger Pädagogen
auch Karl König aufgeführt wird.
Die Sozialtherapie
Die anthroposophische Sozialtherapie wird in den kleinen
Kreisen, in denen sie praktiziert wird, sehr ge-

There are eight centres and initiatives for curative education
in Italy, four day-care practices, eleven special
needs groups that are affiliated to Waldorf schools,
and two training centres.
Curative education
As a result of the 1971 inclusion act separate special
needs classes or schools are not permitted in Italy. The
only places that have survived are a few smaller workshops
and work groups for children with disabilities in
state or private schools or consultation centres. In the
whole of Italy, there are around eleven Waldorf schools
supporting curative education initiatives, but they are
in constant danger of being sued for running “unauthorized
special classes”, as happened recently at one
of the Milan Waldorf Schools.
And yet: interest in anthroposophical curative education
has been growing continuously in recent years, the
two training courses for curative teachers in Italy are
well attended, interested people come from all over
the country to attend specialist conferences and there
is an ever growing demand for consultations.
With the foundation, five years ago, of the Association
for Anthroposophical Curative Education and Social
Therapy in Italy (Associazione per la Pedagogia Curativa
e Socioterapia Antroposofiche) new impulses were
introduced to create a network of all special needs
initiatives. A coordinating group was formed which
meets bi-monthly and supports the joint efforts of the
curative education and social therapy centres by organizing
regular conferences and further training events
as well as by promoting their public image.
The scientist Pietro Crispiani made an important contribution
recently in publishing a history of special
needs education (Storia della pedagogia speciale)
which includes biographies of Karl König and other
important educationists.
Social therapy
Anthroposophical social therapy is highly valued in
the small circles where it is practised, but nationally it
is of little importance. The few social therapy centres
in Italy are medium-sized or small. They have grown
