Turn your interest in making things run better, faster and easier into a career in automated systems,<br />

which are at the heart of virtually all advanced manufacturing sectors across various industries. This<br />

program’s courses — some of which may be offered in an online/hybrid format — are comprehensive.<br />

They will emphasize basic technology used in building and operating automated industrial systems,<br />

including programmable logic controllers, hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics and robotics. In<br />

addition to theory, you will benefit from practical, hands-on laboratory experience.<br />

Notes:<br />

1. You will be able to graduate as a technician after two years or continue for additional study and co-op work experience in the<br />

three-year Automation and Robotics Technology program. If you wish to transfer to the Technology option and obtain an<br />

advanced diploma, you must complete MATH-231 (Differential Calculus with Analytic Geometry) and MATH-232 (Integral<br />

Calculus) prior to Semester 5.<br />

2. The official Ministry name for this program is Electromechanical Engineering Technician.<br />

Accreditation<br />

This program has met the national educational standards of Canada’s engineering technology and<br />

applied science profession, and as such, has received national program accreditation from<br />

Technology Accreditation Canada (TAC).<br />

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)<br />

or equivalent, or mature student status<br />

(19 years or older)<br />

• English Grade 12 C or U, or equivalent<br />

(minimum grade required) or take the<br />

• Mathematics Grade 11 M or U, or 12 C or U,<br />

or equivalent (minimum grade required) or<br />

take a Centennial College Engineering Math<br />
