Building on and improving your language skills is key for college, university or career success.<br />

This five-level Language Learning (ELL) program will help if you are an international student looking<br />

to develop effective academic communication skills in reading, grammar, writing, listening,<br />

speaking and pronunciation. Based on modern teaching and learning practices — and accredited<br />

by Languages Canada — ELL is offered in Elementary, Beginner, Pre-intermediate, Intermediate<br />

and High Intermediate levels, determined by a diagnostic test. Each level features five modules that<br />

run for three weeks each, and will include communicative activities, interactive exercises, group work<br />

and presentations. You will also have access to tutoring, counselling, the library and computer labs.<br />

General Arts is an opportunity to prepare for college or a career, or to discover possible career goals<br />

and various educational options. You will study a range of subjects in the humanities and social<br />

sciences as well as communications, so the possibilities will be extensive once you complete the<br />

program. This college preparation curriculum will benefit you if you are: considering applying for<br />

a college program in areas such as communication arts, child studies, community services, or<br />

hospitality and tourism administration; planning to transfer to Centennial’s Liberal Arts diploma<br />

program; or exploring educational opportunities.<br />
