Event planning is increasingly playing a role in numerous industries and sectors that require innovative<br />
thinking and business skills to help clients create long-lasting memories. The Event Planning program<br />
will equip you for various roles by immersing you in all industry aspects to teach you to design, plan<br />
and produce diverse events. Through work-integrated learning opportunities, executing your own<br />
events and networking with our industry partners, you will be fully prepared to be in high demand.<br />
Business topics will complement event planning-specific courses. You will graduate with It’s Your Shift<br />
certification, a training and awareness program to prevent sexual harassment and violence.<br />

Together, Canada’s large multi-unit organizations and small independent food and beverage<br />
operations create a $70-billion industry — and more around the world. This program will set you up<br />
to play a crucial managerial role, with the skills for a progressive career. During your studies, you will<br />
learn in Centennial’s restaurant, quick service cafe and event space before participating in a 14-week<br />
industry work-integrated learning experience at The Local Cafe and Restaurant, Centennial’s Event<br />
Centre, or with an external industry partner. You will graduate with Smart Serve, Food Handlers, CPR,<br />
First Aid and It’s Your Shift (a training and awareness program to prevent sexual harassment and<br />
violence) certifications.<br />
