Whether you want to obtain an education in multiple business disciplines or develop a foundation<br />
for an area of specialty, this program will give you a solid knowledge base to launch a career. You<br />
will graduate with comprehension and skills in contemporary concepts, theories and best practices<br />
related to the functional areas of accounting, finance, human resources, marketing and operations.<br />
To ensure you are ready for the modern business environment, you will also learn to effectively<br />
communicate, serve customers, work in a team, use technology, demonstrate positive attitudes and<br />
behaviours, be adaptable and responsible, problem solve and continuously learn.<br />
Accreditations<br />
• Business program graduates may apply to the Canadian Professional Sales Association (CPSA) for<br />
a professional sales credential. For more information regarding CPSA certification, please visit the<br />
CPSA website.<br />
• Students who successfully complete the COMP106 and/or COMP126 course(s) at Progress<br />
Campus will have an opportunity to acquire the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) credential. For<br />

Business Foundations 2122<br />

1 year/2 semesters Fall, Winter, Summer Ontario College Certificate Progress<br />
Whether your ultimate goal is to work in marketing, human resources or another area of business, this<br />
program will prepare you with a solid foundation for success. Business Foundations is an alternate<br />
offering if you applied to a Centennial Business program, but may not currently meet the English<br />
admission requirements. With courses covering communications, mathematics, Microsoft Office,<br />
Canadian and international business practices, and business success strategies, you will build<br />
on your existing English language skills and develop an understanding of the Canadian business<br />
environment. Once you complete this program, you will be eligible to transfer, with credits, to a<br />
Business School diploma or advanced diploma program.<br />
Note: Courses that you took as part of the postsecondary credential used to gain admission to this program may not be used to<br />
obtain further transfer credits.<br />
