From bulldozers to tractors and forklifts, heavy duty equipment is big business — and it needs<br />
professionals who understand applied mechanics, vehicle dynamics, and component design and<br />
repair. That’s where the Motive Power - Heavy Duty Equipment Technician program, with its<br />
curriculum rooted in apprenticeship standards, comes in. Aside from learning core subjects using<br />
real-world training aids for hands-on experience, you will attend exclusive courses such as hoisting<br />
and rigging as well as business, English and general education courses. A four-month co-op option<br />
will offer you real-world experience as a paid employee in this field. You will graduate with level 1 and<br />
2 in-school apprenticeship training requirements.<br />

LENGTH INTAKE CREDENTIAL LOCATION<br />

OPTIONAL CO-OP<br />
Truck and coach is one of the economy’s largest industries. In this program, you will learn about<br />
traditional trade subjects and receive advanced instruction in areas such as HVAC (refrigeration),<br />
preventative maintenance and fixed operations management. Courses in the program — which is<br />
based on the Truck and Coach Technician apprenticeship curriculum standards — will emphasize<br />
applied mechanics and vehicle dynamics, and component design and repair. English and general<br />
education courses will also be included. As you become familiar with industry expectations and<br />
standards, your training will ensure you meet requirements for levels 1 and 2 of in-school<br />
apprenticeship training.<br />
