The Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court of Justice, municipal courts, and tribunals and boards<br />
all need the type of pre-court, in-session and post-court expertise Court Support Services graduates<br />
can provide. To safeguard judicial process functions, you will learn tasks such as administering oaths,<br />
preparing exhibits and court documents, distributing court dockets, testing and troubleshooting<br />
audio, recording and court video technology, and maintaining order and decorum in a court or<br />
tribunal. You will participate in court room simulations and mock trials, working with real court<br />
equipment, court forms and court procedures. A practicum shadowing professionals in a real<br />
courtroom will allow you to put learning into practice.<br />
Note: Graduates of Court Support Services Ontario College Certificate will be eligible to apply to the accredited court transcription<br />
course, Court Transcription – Novice.<br />

A recent poll by a leading staffing agency reveals that the coming years could see an increased<br />
demand for law clerks as law firms seek to make efficiencies and transfer duties from first-year<br />
lawyers to trained law clerks. The Law Clerk program will provide you with the necessary skills to<br />
prepare for these opportunities. You will attend a wide variety of relevant courses, in conjunction with<br />
legal software courses, to confidently seek employment in the legal profession. A unique program<br />
feature will be a four-day-per-week work placement in your final semester. It will provide you with<br />
invaluable work experience and allow you to apply your knowledge to real-life legal situations.<br />
Note: Graduates of this Law Clerk program may be eligible for Centennial’s one-year graduate certificate program in Paralegal<br />
studies or to take advantage of the College’s partnership with the University of Leicester’s Law School in the U.K.<br />

If you have sound organization, technical and communication skills, consider a career supporting<br />
upper-level management in environments including corporations, not-for-profits, educational<br />
institutions and government offices. Through practical opportunities, provided both in-class<br />
and during a final-semester field placement with a company or non-profit organization, you will<br />
gain the essential expertise for success. This will include: office technology fundamentals and<br />
support, business writing, marketing fundamentals, social media and online communications,<br />
presentation and business correspondence, conference and meeting planning, minute taking, project<br />
management, accounting fundamentals, collaboration and leadership.<br />
