2 years/4 semesters Fall Ontario College Diploma Ashtonbee<br />

An advanced career in the auto body industry is possible with training from this program, which is<br />

based on levels 1 and 2 apprenticeship curricula with valuable additions that result in a diploma.<br />

The program’s combination of theory, practice and managerial training could lead to a managerial<br />

position or to successfully operating your own business. Auto Body Repair Technician courses will<br />

cover theory and application of vehicle and body construction, detailing and refinishing equipment<br />

maintenance, applied mechanical systems, and refinishing surface preparation and top coat<br />

application. Upon program completion, you will meet levels 1 and 2 of the apprenticeship in-school<br />

training.<br />

The Auto Body Repair Techniques certificate program is highly regarded by the auto industry, which<br />

automatically makes you more employable. Employers recognize that the knowledge and experience<br />

you gain from this program is a valued combination of Level 1 apprenticeship curriculum and other<br />

additions. Even if you have no previous experience, in our auto body in our auto body lab, outfitted<br />

with new equipment, you will acquire extensive hands-on practice and learn about vehicle and body<br />

construction, applied mechanical systems, trade tools and shop equipment, non-structural repair<br />

fundamentals, refinishing surface preparation, and oxyacetylene and gas metal arc welding. When<br />

you graduate, you will meet Level 1 of the apprenticeship in-school training.<br />
