Whether you want to successfully apply for a college program or enter the workforce, English for<br />

Academic Purposes (EAP) will give you an advantage. Designed to prepare you for the postsecondary<br />

admissions process by developing your academic study skills and improving your language skills for<br />

educational and career settings, EAP is fully accredited by Languages Canada. Following a placement<br />

test, you will enter one of three EAP levels. With each level lasting a month, you will participate in<br />

communicative activities, group work and presentations, and gain access to Centennial resources<br />

and services. There are pathways from Level 3 to college communication courses.<br />

Note: This is not a program for individuals whose first language is English.<br />

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)<br />

or equivalent, or mature student status<br />

(19 years of age or older)<br />

• You will require the following minimum scores:<br />

› CLB - 4<br />

› IELTS: 3.5-4.0<br />

› TOEFL: 397-433<br />

› ibTOEFL: 30-40<br />

› iTEP: 3.5-3.6<br />

› Pearson TE (Academic): 36-40<br />

› Cambridge Exams: Preliminary English Test pass<br />

Note: All students must complete a specialized English<br />

placement assessment to determine EAP program<br />

Preparation is key for success, whether you are entering college or have yet to decide on your career<br />

path. The Liberal Arts program will help you to effectively move in the direction of your future goals<br />

with its coverage of topics such as humanities, social sciences, communications and research<br />

methods. This program is for you if you are interested in applying to a Bachelor of Arts program at a<br />

recognized university, considering business administration, child studies and community services,<br />

hospitality and tourism, journalism, and media and design programs at the college level; or exploring<br />

career goals and educational options.<br />
