3 years/6 semesters Fall Ontario College Advanced Diploma Morningside<br />
OPTIONAL CO-OP<br />
Curbing the negative impact of human involvement on the environment is becoming an increasingly<br />
important industry. With this program, you can launch your career in three years. Your training will<br />
include theoretical and practical knowledge in understanding and managing complex environmental<br />
problems as you cover biology, chemistry and civil engineering. Using technology and equipment for<br />
water and soil quality analysis, hazardous material management, AutoCAD drawing, geographic<br />
information systems mapping, lab practice in water quality testing and groundwater movement, and<br />
computer aided environmental audits will round out training.<br />
Drinking Water Operators<br />
If you successfully complete the entry-level course for drinking water operators, you will meet the<br />
requirements of the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks’ entry-level course for<br />
drinking water operators.<br />
Accreditation<br />
This program has met the national educational standards of Canada’s engineering technology and<br />
applied science profession, and as such, has received national program accreditation from<br />
Technology Accreditation Canada (TAC).<br />
Certification<br />
When you graduate, you will be able to write the Ontario Ministry of the Environment Operator in<br />
Training (OIT) and Water Quality Analyst (WQA) exams. You will also be able to apply to register with<br />
the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT).<br />
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS<br />
• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)<br />
or equivalent, or mature student status<br />
(19 years or older)<br />
• English Grade 12 C or U, or equivalent<br />
(minimum grade required) or take the<br />
Centennial College English Skills Assessment<br />
for Admission<br />
• Mathematics Grade 11 M or U, or 12 C or U,<br />
or equivalent (minimum grade required) or<br />
take a Centennial College Engineering Math<br />
Skills Assessment for Admission<br />
• English language proficiency<br />
