It’s expected that this program — designed in accordance with the Ontario Association of Fire
Chiefs and the Ontario Office of the Fire Marshal’s approved curriculum — will increasingly become
a minimum criterion for fire service hiring in Ontario. To make you an eligible operational firefighter
candidate, this program will combine theory and practical learning as you develop fire suppression,
rescue operations and environmental protection skills. At Ajax Fire Services’ training facilities and
Morningside Campus’ medical lab, you will acquire hands-on experience. When you graduate, you
will be eligible to write the National Fire Protection Association 1001 Firefighter 1 and 2, and 472
