ANY DELOCALISATION?
Automation of manufacturing processes
(requiring less unskilled labour), increased
labour costs in China and, finally,
the pandemic due to Covid-19 could be
factors that discouraged industrial relocation
to East Asian countries, a phenomenon
that characterised the expansive phase of
globalisation at the beginning of the millennium.
Is this the prospect we should expect? “I don’t
think so,” Francesco Boggio Ferraris says,
“but I am convinced that China will be an even
more important and reliable trading partner
in the future. Certainly exchanges (both people
and goods) will be complicated in the short term,
but the Chinese economy is the first
to recover globally and I think Italy has all the
characteristics to be among the first nations
in the West to rebuild an important dialogue,
including trade, with Beijing”.
SHAKING ELBOWS
The phase of coexistence with the virus also led
to a resumption of international relations, with
the consequent circulation of goods and people.

DELOCALIZZIAMO?
Automazione dei processi produttivi (che
necessitano di minore manodopera non
specializzata), aumento del costo del lavoro in
Cina e, infine, la pandemia dovuta al Covid-19
potrebbero essere fattori che disincentivano la
delocalizzazione industriale nei Paesi dell’Asia
orientale, fenomeno che ha caratterizzato la fase
espansiva della globalizzazione di inizio millennio.
È la prospettiva che dobbiamo aspettarci? “Credo
di no - risponde Francesco Boggio Ferraris -. Sono
convinto, invece, che la Cina rappresenterà in
futuro un possibile partner commerciale ancora più
importante e affidabile. Sicuramente gli scambi (sia
di persone sia di beni) nel breve periodo saranno
complicati, ma l’economia cinese è la prima a
riprendersi a livello globale e penso che l’Italia
abbia tutte le caratteristiche per essere tra le prime
nazioni in Occidente a ricostruire un dialogo, anche
commerciale, importante con Pechino”.
UNA STRETTA DI GOMITO
La fase di convivenza con il virus ha comportato
anche una ripresa delle relazioni internazionali, con
la conseguente circolazione di beni e persone. In
base al DPCM (Decreto del Presidente del Consiglio
dei Ministri Italiano) del 7 settembre scorso, la Cina
