For the United States and Western Europe, there are forecasts of a period of recession that could leave negative signs, especially in terms of employment. For the countries of Latin America, Asia and Africa, the economic cycle will only turn positive when global consumption picks up again. China had been the only country since the 1980s to cope well with the impact of the financial crises, and in this context it has managed to safeguard its market, remaining indispensable to the rest of the world for the supply of goods, especially in the health sector. Per i Paesi dell’America Latina, dell’Asia e dell’Africa, il ciclo economico potrà volgere in positivo soltanto quando ripartiranno i consumi globali. La Cina era stata l’unica potenza, dagli anni ‘80, a reggere bene l’impatto delle crisi finanziarie e in questo frangente è riuscita a salvaguardare il proprio mercato, restando indispensabile al resto del mondo per la fornitura di beni, soprattutto in ambito sanitario. Una crescita sotto i dieci punti percentuali è un problema enorme per il gigante asiatico (che ha un bisogno strutturale di crescita costante), ma sicuramente meno drammatico rispetto ai Paesi fornitori di materie prime agricole e minerarie. La tenuta della Cina può anche voler dire che la ripartenza questa volta sarà ‘anomala’, cioè si sentirà prima nei Paesi più poveri agganciati a Pechino che non in Europa. Resta per tutti il serio problema del riscaldamento globale, che ormai è impossibile nascondere e che sta assumendo dimensioni, e soprattutto tempistiche, che superano ogni previsione. L’attuale dimezzamento del commercio globale e il crollo di interi comparti, come quello turistico o aeronautico, creerà disoccupazione ma anche nuovi impieghi in settori quali l’alimentare e l’assistenziale.
