Samir Modi
A Businessperson Who Dared To Dream
Mr. Samir Modi truly defines the sentence that “success knows no age
limits”. At a very young age of 25, he launched India’s first direct selling
company in 1996. He firmly believes that life is all about taking risks to
achieve a dream that “no one can see but you”

of Delhi’s Hindu College, Samir Modi
studied business from the prestigious
Harvard Business School and started
working as a management trainee for
Philip Morris in the US. This was the
beginning of his journey to self-discovery
and carving a niche for himself.

background, Samir Modi chose to start
his own business and be a self-made
man. He has always believed in helping
people while observing the contradiction
in the success of Indians and understood
that, to replicate success in India, the
only possible way is through economic
independence.

work, and determination, Samir Modi

brands in the market. He has
always relied on his thought process
and inspires aspiring businessmen

A Master Manager
Samir Modi is a man with great
management skills. He operates
multiple businesses in different fields.
He is the founder and president of
24SEVEN convenience retail store
chain. He launched this company in
2005 and made it India’s first one of its
own kindround-the-clock open store.
Understanding the scope for cosmetics
brands made in India, he established
Colorbar Cosmetics in 2004 and with his
efforts and hard work made it the 3rd
largest cosmetic brand in an industry
where the market is dominated by
long-established international brands.
Having so many industries to handle,
Samir Modi never compromised with his
efforts and made every brand to reach a
recognizable level in the market.
Along with his entrepreneurial feats,
hisrich experienceis also attributed to
his duties as the executive director of
the famous K.K. Modi group, Director
of Godfred Phillips India Limited and
Director of Indofil Industries Limited.
He is also a member of the Federation
of Indian Chambers of Commerce
and Industries’ (FICCI) executive
committee. Modi’s global perspective
and multicultural approach to work came
under spotlight and he was appointed
as the President of Confederation of
AsiaPacific Chambers of Commerce and
Industries (CACCI).
Philanthropically Inclined
Keeping up with his family’stradition of
being actively involved in humanitarian
causes, he established Modicare
Foundation in 1996. It does extensive
work in the fields of HIV/AIDS
awareness, gender-related issues, and
children’s education. He focuses on
providing education to people and thus
initiated 100% literacy programme for
the company’s workers too.
He believes in the fact that, if you
change yourself for better, you can
even achieve even those dreams which
seem impossible now. With a mission
of nation-building and changing lives of
many, he participated in many awareness
programs and took other relevant
initiatives to ensure he could accomplish
the professional and personal goals of
life. As the Founder and MD, he has
always emphasized the overall success
while making sure that the brand
keeps doing its best. He understood the
economics of the nation well and hence
chose a reasonable prices range for his
products. It is his practical approach
that has made all Modicare brands the
most sought-after ones in the region.
