The Foundation has also chalked out
a plan to build low cost and affordable
hospitals in the Western part of India,
namely Latur (Maharashtra) and Bhuj
(Gujarat). Raising over Rs.250 crore, these
hospitals would target the needs of lowincome
families in these areas focusing
on providing quality and affordable health
services and would be constructed keeping
in line with India’s National Health Policy.
In addition, Darwin Pharma branch of
the conglomerate will also be focusing
on improving primary and secondary
healthcare conditions in the target areas.
Under Mr. Singh’s able leadership, AHS
Food charity was set up in India to provide
food to homeless and needy. Eventually,
the organisation has opened food kitchens
in London (UK) and Philadelphia (US), and
provides over 3,000 vegetarian meals to
the needy.
Sharing his views on giving back to
society, Mr. Singh asserts, “I believe in
investing in people – who are an extension
of my vision. To have good thoughts, words
and deeds is my philosophy. I wish to be
a good human being with the right intent.
But naturally one then emits the right
vibrations, and when success is dependent
on people, it helps the most. With power
comes great responsibility, and it is my
responsibility to give back to the people
who have served in achieving my vision
for humanity. It is their responsibility to
propagate the same thoughts further,
which in turn would have a domino effect
and chain reaction to enlighten all humans
across the globe.”
He can be best described as an epitome
of humbleness when he adds, “I have a very
private side of me that engages in social
service and I believe it need not be boasted
about in order to maintain its sanctity.”
A Popular Youth Icon
Besides being a self made and successful
entrepreneur, Mr. Singh is also a
philanthropist who intends to see a
positive change in the world. He is a
source of inspiration for umpteen aspiring
entrepreneurs and others, who wish to
follow his footsteps. His message to the
youth, especially the young generation,
who look up to him as a role model is “Be
more focused, be more aware and don’t
be scared to ask for explanations till you
are satisfied. Invest in yourself till you fill
yourself positively. Be introspective and
daily ask yourself what activity have you
undertaken that contributed to the holistic
growth of society.”
He further adds, “Compete with your own
self and try and set realistic benchmarks.
Read a lot about great people – there is a
lot of wisdom hidden in them. Don’t fear
to cross the limits as long as you wouldn’t
hurt anybody’s sentiments.”
