Dia Mirza was crowned Miss Asia Pacific at 18, after
which she entered Bollywood and soon went on to
establish herself as a well-respected and versatile
actor. A woman with a mesmerising screen presence, she
has set the bar high with her powerful yet graceful and
endearing portrayals. After having worked in the Indian film
industry for several years, Ms. Mirza set up her own film
production company ‘Born Free Entertainment’ to nurture
her love for cinema and tell socially relevant stories under
the brand name. Her film company has successfully made
and released feature films, public service films and ad
films. Ms. Mirza is a stunning example of how social and
environmental issues can be highlighted and championed
by celebrities to create a tremendous positive impact.
Big Presence On The Small Screen
After having won the hearts of the audience with her acting
skills on the big screen, Ms. Mirza entered the television
and digital media space. She made her small screen debut
in 2016 with a show titled ‘Ganga-The Soul of India’ where
she embarked on a soul-stirring journey across the banks
of the Ganga to explore unseen places, meet various local
people, take part in adventure activities, discover new
food and most of all to have a good time. The journey
began from Gangotri (Uttarakhand) and ended at the
Ganga Sagar (West Bengal).
She also made her digital acting debut with the Zee5
show ‘Kaafir’in 2019, which was critically acclaimed.

notable contributions has been championing the campaign
#BeatPlasticPollution along with the UN leading to World
Environment Day in 2018, when India was the host nation.
This then led to the historic declaration by Prime Minister
Narendra Modi to make India Single-Use Plastics-Free by
2022.

Apart from her national and international beauty titles,
her sincere efforts, in bringing about social change as well
as conserving wildlife and environment, have been much
appreciated. She has been accorded with an exhaustive
list of titles including Founder Member of Wildlife Trust of
India’s Club Nature, Ambassador Wildlife Trust of India,
Ambassador for the Swachh Bharat Mission’s ‘Swachh
Saathi’ programme, Ambassador for Sanctuary Asia’s
Tiger Conservation - Kids for Tigers Program, Member of
the Governing Board of the Sanctuary Nature Foundation
and the First Indian Ambassador for Save The Children.
She was also awarded an IIFA 2012 Green Award for her
contribution towards a green environment.

hats with élan. She has become the voice of wildlife
and environmental conservation in the country and was
appointed the United Nations Environment Goodwill
Ambassador for India at the UNEA assembly held at
