A Born Leader
Born and brought up in a cultural family, Dr. Sohani Hossain demonstrated her
leadership qualities right from an early age. Her keen interest in politics inspired
her to actively participate in political activities throughout her college life. Soon
after completing her college, she got married to a businessman named Mobarak
Hossain Ratno, who used to run movie theatres. Her husband’s untimely death
in 2007 compelled her to hold the reins of his business, and that proved to be the
turning point in her life.
With her relentless hard work and dedication, she not only helped Universal
Group grow by leaps and bounds but also diversified its business model. Currently,
Universal Group has approximately 10,000 employees and its turnover stands at
BDT 400-600 crores.

Giving Back to Society
Dr. Hossain is known for her active involvement in social issues. As an active
women’s rights activist, she has been making continuous efforts to uplift women
who have been abandoned and abused, or exposed to drugs. What’s more, she has
also been working hard to empower the third gendered community by providing
them with jobs at her organisation so that they can live in the society without any
discrimination.
She also founded Sohani Hossain Alternative School for Dalit in Pabna to deliver
quality education to Dalit children. Dr. Hossain also hopes to set up hospitals to
serve the society in the near future. She has envisioned the construction of Mobarak
Hossain Ratna Medical College Hospital to materialize her wish.

Owing to her dedicated efforts in making the world a better place by virtue of her
numerous philanthropic activities, Dr. Hossain has been honored with several
national and international awards including Dada Saheb Phalke Award in 2016,
Mother Teresa International Award in 2015, and 8th Small Business Award 2019,
in India. The multi-talented entrepreneur has also achieved recognition for her
literary works.

A Great visionary
When a man with a great vision decided to step into the corridor of business which
was completely new for the typical Indian market, he encountered lots of challenges
in his way. Yet, his clear sight and focus on his goal along with the dedication to
pursue his dream not only made him accomplish his mission but catapulted him to
the pinnacle of success.
Born in a remote village in Kutch, Gujarat, Mr. Patel dreamt and visualized of an
extraordinary life. Soon after pursuing his graduation in Science, he set on the path
of establishing his own wood business. The first milestone in his life came in the
year 1999, with the establishment of Aditya Timbers which today, apart from several
other of his businesses, is blooming.

There was no looking back for Mr. Patel after the success of Aditya Timbers. His
next leap was when he decided to set foot in the Jumbo Bag manufacturing and
export business. At that point in time, no other firm across India was involved in this
sector. It, therefore, was really challenging for him to ensure that every step taken
was well-administered. His major challenge was to compete in the global market
and he did so with much efficiency. No wonder Aditya Timpack Private Limited
(ATPL) has been soaring across the sky of success.

For all the hard work that he has put in to bring his company’s name on the map of the
top franchises in India, laurels were sure to come. Mr. Patel and his company have
been bestowed with several awards and accolades through their journey of success.
Under his leadership, the firm received ‘The Most Trusted FIBC Manufacturer
Award at Global Excellence Awards. It was also presented with the ‘Best Performing
Company 2018-19 by Leadership Federation.
With a firm belief to give back to society, Mr. Patel has been involved in various
CSR activities ranging from Tree Plantations to Medical Camps and others. An
inspiration to the young generation, he believes that the youth is the future and that
they should dream big and toil hard to live that dream.
