Sharing some of the other sources of
inspiration, besides his family, which
motivate him to excel, he says, “My passion
towards work inspires me to be the best in
the industry. The people’s growth is also
a source of inspiration and giving back to
the society from where we come is another
aspiration I have.”
Building the Nation
Giving back to society not only makes an
individual more generous, it also gives the
person a sense of purpose, and happiness
in doing something for others who need
it more. Mr. Baliga is one such noble soul
who has been efficiently giving back to
society through numerous endeavours and
channels. Talking about his philanthropic
initiatives, he asserts, “We have divided our
CSR in two categories. One is giving back
to mother earth and second to the needy
or people living below the poverty line. On
the product front, each of our products
is created and etched out of one single
principle, conservation of water – a deep
concern in working towards a greener planet
– be it our taps, faucets, pipes and fittings,
or sanitary ware. All these products are
crafted to ensure optimal use of resources.”
He adds, “We are also doing a campaign
across the country namely ‘I SAVE WATER’
campaign to save water. This will help in the
preservation of water which has been one of
the main causes of concern for many of us
in the world.” He further adds, “Apart from
this, we are giving back to the mother earth
by growing plants, renovating small ponds,
focusing on maintaining the clean Swachh
Bharat not only in our factories, offices, but
also in the Panchayat locations wherein our
factories are located. On the professional
front, we have adopted schools in a couple
of states, created a smooth drainage system
for a Panchayat village, and have been
sponsoring the higher education of students.
Overall, we have invested in education,
rural toilets, and bathrooms at government
hospitals, medicals requirements of old age
people, cancer hospitals and differentlyabled
students. On the personal front, I
have been educating more than 10 students
for many years now, have provided free
lunches to many poor people and books to
poor students irrespective of religion (at an
Urdu school in Bangalore) and have also
been donating to an old age home.”
A true Karma Yogi, Mr. Baliga’s message
to the youth is “Work hard with integrity,
sincerity, honesty, focus, and passion to
create an impact on people’s mind. There
is no short cut to success. Always give back
whatever you have earned to the society
by providing education, donating money or
working for the conservation of nature.”
