Machani has carved a niche for himself as a forward-thinking
entrepreneur and visionary leader. He is the third-generation leader
of MGB Group, founded in 1928 by Machani Gangappa in Kurnool, and
under the guidance of Padmashree Machani Somappa
A keen learner
The young entrepreneur joined his
family business soon after accomplishing
his B.Tech Degree from Anna University
in Chennai (India). At the same time,
he undertook several business training
programs to hone his razor-sharp
entrepreneurial mindset. Mr. M.G.
Gopalakrishna’s business acumen,
combined with his analytical skills and
a strong focus on innovation has gone
a long way towards helping him attain
leadership position within the group.
Additionally, his continuous hunger
to acquire new knowledge makes
him a constant learner. The young
entrepreneur does not want to sit on his
laurels. To upgrade his business skills,
he has recently secured admission at
Harvard Business School, and Indian
School of Business for pursuing a Doctor
of Business Administration.

Like a true leader, he believes that one
should step out of one’s comfort zone
and challenge oneself to make an impact.
That’s why he decided to step out of the
automobile industry to try his hands at
retail and construction, thus diversifying
the profile of the MGB Group. Under his
direction, MGB Group’s construction
and retail division have witnessed
immense success.
In the year 2013, Mr. M.G.
Gopalakrishna launched a project to
build a shopping mall in Andhra Pradesh.
The project named MGB Felicity Mall
was completed in a span of three years.
Today, MGB Felicity Mall is one of
the largest and vibrant shopping malls
in Andhra Pradesh. The Mall launched
amidst great fanfare maintains a
remarkable occupancy rate of 98%
to date. Through this mall, Mr. M.G
Gopalakrishna has introduced multiple
national and international lifestyle
brands to Nellore and its surrounding
areas.
Under his able leadership, MGB
Felicity Mall featuring boutiques, retail
stores, fast-food outlets, restaurants,
and a multiplex theater has won
multiple awards including the ‘Best
Upcoming Mall Award– South India’ by
The Activation Venues Forum in 2017;
The ‘Most Number of Events Done
(non-metro) Award’ by The Activation
Venues Forum in 2018 (National Level);
The ‘Most Admired Shopping Centre
of the Year’ by Images Retail Forum

Mr. M.G. Gopalakrishna is a brilliant
orator in his own right, who is regularly
invited to speak at multiple events to
captivate audiences with his speeches.
He was invited to speak at the Activation
Venues Forum in 2018, where he gave
a presentation on marketing strategy
in Tier II cities with a global vision. He
was also invited to talk about the future
of food services and retail spaces at the
Indian Food Forum and India Fashion
Forum in 2019.

Mr. M.G. Gopalakrishna is an
entrepreneur with a heart of gold. He
is a lifetime member of the Red Cross
Society. Besides supporting his local
community, he always lends a helping
hand to the poor and downtrodden
section of the society for improving
their quality of life. As Director at
Heartfulness Institute (a non-profit
organization spread over 140 countries
across the globe with around two million
