accomplishments but there are only a few who have the courage to
create a name for themselves by doing everything they can to build a
better future for fellow citizens. Aruna Katara is one such leader who

A Leader With A Clear Vision
Ms. Katara is the President of the
Hope Foundation and Research Centre
and has brilliantly shouldered the
responsibility of heading Finolex Group
of Companies, an enterprise established
by her father Late Shri Pralhad P
Chhabria. Ms. Katara is a prime example
of the businessperson who leads from
the front. She is at the helm of affairs
at Hope Foundation and ensures that
the organization works towards making
a difference in the lives of others. Under
her guidance, Hope Foundation works
towards bringing the underprivileged
sections of society into the mainstream
and offers them the opportunity to live
their lives with dignity.
Changing Ground Realities
Ms. Katara is socially enlightened and
has a keen understanding of the deep-
rooted poverty and discrimination that
many people face in their lives. Her
organization works towards fulfilling its
vision of providing quality education,
advancing research and development
in niche areas and ensuring medical
assistance reaches the deprived
communities of the country.
While the Foundation’s team is
promoting a better life at the grassroots
level, Ms. Katara supports fundraising
and engagement activities and generally
spreads the word about the noble work
undertaken by the Foundation.
A Passionate Changemaker
Ms. Katara, who is currently pursuing her
Doctorate in Education Management,
has immensely benefited from the
knowledge imparted by her father. The
experience she gained from watching
him do good for others has definitely
helped her take the organization to an
even bigger level. Under her leadership,
the Foundation has transformed the
socio-economic landscape of rural
Ratnagiri. The group has taken up
several projects in the Konkan region
and this step has made them a beacon
for developmental work in the area.
Several franchises function under the
Foundation including Finolex Academy
of Management and Technology (FAMT),
Ratnagiri, International Institute of
Information Technology, Pune and
Pralhad P. Chhabria Research Centre,
Pune. Mrs. Katara proudly heads all
these organizations that work in specific
areas.
Spreading The Message Of
Empowerment
Ms. Katara believes that empowering the
women of the country is what will turn
India into a world leader. She vehemently
believes that empowering women does
not only mean protecting their rights
or offering equal opportunities, but
it involves providing them with the
resources so that they make a mark. She
feels that true power will come when
the women in the country will be able
to take on challenging and dynamic roles
that will eventually help them become
leaders. The Foundation has taken up
several initiatives to make sure women
are truly empowered. ‘Women Prowess’
is one such annual event that welcomes
formidable women achievers to tell their
success stories and influence others.

Ms. Katara’s contribution towards
building a stronger and better tomorrow
has been keenly recognized by several
institutions. She has been bestowed with
many awards for her umpteen social and
philanthropic endeavours. She received
the ‘Dialogue India Editor Choice
Education Excellence Award’ at the 4th
Dialogue India Academia Conclave. She
has also been honoured with ‘Iconic
Women Creating a Better World for All’
Award by All Ladies League & Women
Economic Forum.
