ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR DEGREE CANDIDATES
1) A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. The major or specialization
shouJd be re/evanr co the graduate degree program.
2) A minimum cumulative grade poinr average of3.0 on a 4.0 scale in undergraduate
studies. (Under cerrain conditions, a srudenr with a lower average may be admirred
on a conditional basis pending the grade results of the srudenr's first nine credits in
graduate school.)
3) Three lerters of recommendation, preferably from former professors and an employer.
4) A personal inrerview wirh one of rhe graduate program direccors.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR SPECIAL GRADUATE STUDENTS
Baccalaureate applicants who do not meet the criteria for admission as degree candid4tes
or who do not choose formally to enter the graduate degree program may be admitted on a
conditional basis under the following conditiom:
1) They may be required co take additional undergraduate preparacory work rhat is
re/evanr co rhe graduate degree program inro which admission is sought. No credit
toward rhe graduate degree will be granred for rhis work.
2) They may be required co submit Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores for evaluation.
3) They may be required co show evidence of successful work in rhe profession co
which the program is related.
4) No conditional graduate srudenr may become a degree candidate unril the srudenr
completes nine credits of graduate work in the program with a minimum grade
poinr average of 3.0.
5) All changes from conditional scarus co degree candidacy starus must be approved
by one of the graduate program directors.
STANDING
Every person who applies will be evaluated by one of the program directors and, if
admirred, will be given a profile showing any graduate credits, any deficiencies to be
corrected, required courses, and options available. This srudenr profile will become a
permanenr parr of the srudenr's record and will serve as a guide throughout the period
of matricuJation.
COMPLETION 'riME
All requirements for rhe M.S. degree must be completed wirhin seven calendar years
from formal acceptance inro rhe program.
SCHOLASTIC STANDARDS
Graduate studenrs must mainrain an overall grade poinr average of 3.0. No more rhan
six credits of C may be applied coward the M.S. degree. Srudenrs failing to mainrain a
3.0 average may be placed on probation, suspended, or dismissed from the degree
program.
