Transfer System Introduction 10. Transfer System Introduction The transfer system provides a highly precise, rotation-resistant impression system for both closed and open impression tray methods. The system components are color-coded by implant diameter. You should make sure to mix and match only implants and prosthetic components of the same diameter (by color-coding). No components of different diameters should be attached to one another. The system components must not be modified. If heavily divergent implant axes are present or combination with a functional impression is desired, the open impression method should be used. Special impression posts must be used along with ball abutments, Locator ® abutments, or bar abutments. Closed Impression Method System Components The system components for the closed impression method are consistently color-coded.
