Students will develop and apply knowledge <strong>of</strong> the anatomy and physiology <strong>of</strong> the voice with the methods, curriculum, materials<br />
and procedures <strong>of</strong> teaching. Students will participate in observed teaching situations with an assigned voice student.<br />

Capstone Course<br />
A capstone course in the Music and Worship Major. This course is an integration <strong>of</strong> theology, historical information, critical<br />
thinking, and practical skills application related to worship in culture. (Prerequisite: Senior class standing, MUS274, MUS310,<br />
Writing Pr<strong>of</strong>iciency passed)<br />

Music Organization and Leadership (S: even years)<br />
Capstone Course<br />
A capstone course in the practical aspects <strong>of</strong> organizing, maintaining and leading a music program. Areas covered will include<br />
resources, staffing, planning, and organization skills. (Prerequisites: MUS 274, MUS 310, Writing Pr<strong>of</strong>iciency passed)<br />
MUS475 3 units<br />
Music and Worship Internship<br />
Students will be placed in a music ministry internship with a local congregation. Under supervision, they will apply the skills and<br />
knowledge acquired in the major to practical ministry situations. This course is the designated service learning course within this<br />
major. Service credit can be earned for successful completion <strong>of</strong> this course. (Prerequisites: MUS420 or MUS450)<br />
MUS496 ½ unit<br />
The Way Ensemble (F, S)<br />
<strong>University</strong> Singers is a select touring ensemble <strong>of</strong> mixed voices. Repertoire includes music <strong>of</strong> various styles and periods with an<br />
emphasis on A Cappella literature. <strong>University</strong> Singers performance schedule includes scheduled church visits, school and<br />
community performances and on campus concerts. Audition required. This course may be repeated for credit.<br />
MUS497 ½ unit<br />
Awaken<br />
Awaken is a select touring ensemble <strong>of</strong> instruments and voices. Repertoire includes music <strong>of</strong> various styles and periods with an<br />
emphasis on modern worship. Awaken’s performance schedule includes scheduled church visits, school and community<br />
performances and on campus concerts. Audition required. This course may be repeated for credit.<br />
MUS498 0 units<br />
Senior Recital (Capstone Course)<br />
Music Majors are required to present in the senior year a senior recital <strong>of</strong> one hour (minimum length) prior to graduation.<br />
Students will register for M498 during the semester <strong>of</strong> their scheduled recital.(Prerequisite : MUS400 Applied Level, Writing<br />
