A general explanation <strong>of</strong> the law as it pertains to pr<strong>of</strong>it and not-for-pr<strong>of</strong>it organizations including its sources, development, and<br />

terminology. Specific legal doctrines and principles that affect business including an introduction to contracts, legal documents,<br />

and property are covered. Business entity structures such as sole-proprietorships, partnerships, limited liability companies and<br />

corporations are addressed.<br />

Operations Management<br />

An overview <strong>of</strong> the processes that transform inputs into finished goods and services. This course helps students understand the<br />

importance <strong>of</strong> operations management and how it interacts with other parts <strong>of</strong> the organization, providing the necessary<br />

framework for developing skills needed to apply appropriate analytical tools to challenges within the business operations.<br />

Research Methods and Statistical Concepts<br />

Provides the student with an overview and understanding <strong>of</strong> research methods and statistical terms used in both the psychology<br />

and business disciplines with a special focus on compilation and interpretation <strong>of</strong> data. Research methods will include<br />

introduction to identification and procurement <strong>of</strong> relevant sources <strong>of</strong> information for conducting research relative to both an<br />

academic or practitioner application. Students will learn the proper documentation for applicable formatting <strong>of</strong> source data within<br />

their area <strong>of</strong> study.<br />

Strategic Management<br />

An integrative course with a focus <strong>of</strong> analyzing interrelationships <strong>of</strong> managerial decisions/actions within and between the firm and<br />

its environment. Applies multi-disciplinary techniques to diagnose and recommend actions appropriate to specific company<br />

situations using the case study method.<br />

Capstone Seminar<br />

Introduces and launches the Capstone project as the culminating activity <strong>of</strong> the Business Administration degree. Session includes<br />

discussion on selecting an organization and project; addresses the expectations <strong>of</strong> the Capstone; specifies key dates and<br />

important milestones for specific assignment; and provides examples <strong>of</strong> previous student prepared Capstones.<br />

Capstone I<br />

Provides an opportunity to integrate practically what has been learned through the program as a project to manage. The project is<br />

intended to demonstrate the integration and achievement <strong>of</strong> the primary learning goals <strong>of</strong> the <strong>University</strong> and Business<br />

Administration major and will include an intervention with an outside organization <strong>of</strong> the students choosing. This course is one<br />

<strong>of</strong> two designated service learning courses within this major.<br />

Capstone II<br />

Provides an opportunity for reporting the culmination <strong>of</strong> the Capstone Project including a thorough and well documented<br />

presentation to class-mates on respective project. This project aims to integrate learning from the coursework, and practical work<br />

in a management setting with-in an actual organization selected by the student. This course is the second designated service<br />

learning course within this major.<br />
