A course designed to explore sexual information/issues. Self awareness as well as implications for ministry to others will be<br />

Pre-Practicum Seminar<br />
Introduces students to the practicum experience and assists them as they consider their own career goals and find a placement<br />
site that will prepare them for their specific niche in the helping pr<strong>of</strong>essions.<br />

Practicum I<br />
Students will work in a therapeutic setting in which the focus <strong>of</strong> work is assisting individuals/couples/families in personal distress.<br />
Onsite training and supervision as well as faculty supervision on campus will be a part <strong>of</strong> the practicum experience. Students will<br />
study legal and ethical issues in counseling relationships alongside site placement.<br />

Practicum II<br />
Students continue working in a therapeutic setting in which the focus <strong>of</strong> work is assisting individuals/couples/families in personal<br />
distress. Supervision on-site, and supervision from a faculty practicum supervisor provide support as students work at their<br />
practicum site.<br />
PSYC490XL (MGMT490XL) 3 units<br />
Research Methods and Statistical Concepts<br />
Provides the student with an overview and understanding <strong>of</strong> research methods and statistical terms used in both the psychology<br />
and business disciplines with a special focus on compilation and interpretation <strong>of</strong> data. Research methods will include<br />
introduction to identification and procurement <strong>of</strong> relevant sources <strong>of</strong> information for conducting research relative to both an<br />
academic or practitioner application. Students will learn the proper documentation for applicable formatting <strong>of</strong> source data within<br />
their area <strong>of</strong> study.<br />
PSYC498XL 3 units<br />
Counseling Psychology Capstone<br />
The senior capstone experience for Psychology majors, this course provides the opportunity to demonstrate the ability to integrate<br />
course work from the breadth <strong>of</strong> the entire program. Students will complete a self assessment <strong>of</strong> personal strengths and growth<br />
areas as they prepare to launch into the mental health pr<strong>of</strong>essions. They will also write a paper on the integration <strong>of</strong> faith and<br />
practice in the helping pr<strong>of</strong>essions.<br />
