1. This mistranslation is not due to ignorance, but (like those at pp. 19 and 20) to a
désire to conceal a fact militating against théories of early Irish civilisation.
2. This is the most wonderful example of polysynthesis that I hâve yet met in old
\nsh ; co-na-m-usn-âgat (literally 'that-not-me-they-fight') might almost be Basque or
Accadian.
