9.29.3 COMMERCIAL
• Commercial facilities shall be developed within the precincts (Core
Area) and the Neighbourhood Centre with distinctive identity and
taking full advantage of the water bodies and natural features.
• The Core Area shall be the core commercial activities and each
precinct shall showcase different types of commercial activities to
accommodate the needs of the residents, workers and visitors.
• The Neighbourhood Centre shall provide low order goods and services
to cater for the needs of the local residents and shall be within
walking distance from all residential units.
• The commercial activities within the Core Area in particular shall
create a lively environment not only during the day but also during the
night.
• Public transport modes including LRT and tram shall make shopping
within the Core Area an enjoyable and delightful experience.
