9.29.3 COMMERCIAL<br />

• Commercial facilities shall be developed within the precincts (Core<br />

Area) and the Neighbourhood Centre with distinctive identity and<br />

taking full advantage of the water bodies and natural features.<br />

• The Core Area shall be the core commercial activities and each<br />

precinct shall showcase different types of commercial activities to<br />

accommodate the needs of the residents, workers and visitors.<br />

• The Neighbourhood Centre shall provide low order goods and services<br />

to cater for the needs of the local residents and shall be within<br />

walking distance from all residential units.<br />

• The commercial activities within the Core Area in particular shall<br />

create a lively environment not only during the day but also during the<br />

night.<br />

• Public transport modes including LRT and tram shall make shopping<br />

within the Core Area an enjoyable and delightful experience.<br />
