9.32.4 COMMERCIAL
• Commercial activities shall be developed in a two tier hierarchy -
District Shopping Centre (DSC) and Local Shopping Centre (LSC).
• The DSC shall accommodate the needs for low and high order goods
and services and shall be the main area for commercial activities.
• The LSC shall provide low order goods and services to cater for the
needs of local residents and shall be within walking distance from all
residential units.
• The central area shall also be developed as a Business Service Centre
and the building shall from one of the landmarks for the area.
• Public transport shall be the main mode of transport within the central
area and pedestrian malls shall be an important feature.
9.32.5 OPEN SPACES AND RECREATION
• The open spaces in neighbourhood and recreational areas shall have
play areas, games courts and playing fields.
• Accessibility to the play areas from the neighbourhood shall not cross
any major roads.
• Each neighbourhood shall be provided with its own facilities to provide
fitness activities as a lifestyle and also to include play fields including
football fields.
9.32.6 COMMUNITY FACILITIES
• Intelligent mosque will be located within the area and shall be the
main centre/focus of community and religious activity, example Rakan
Muda activities.
• Other social facilities such as libraries, shall be integrated within the
development of the intelligent mosque and within accessible distance.
