3. Preserve large areas of open space sufficient to meet the long-range
needs of Airport City
4. Develop and maintain a balanced citywide system of high quality
public open spaces.
5. Provide continuous public open space within walking distance in each
neighbourhood unit. It should be properly landscaped, maintained and
equipped with green garden furniture, playing equipment and safe
from vandalism.
6. Salak Tinggi New Town will be an administrative centre for Sepang
District. District Land Office and Council Office should be the key
landmark institutional buildings in the Airport City.
7. Town square enclosed by uniquely designed landmark buildings
should be provided to enhance image of the city centre.
ROAD AND PEDESTRIAN SPACE NETWORK
1. Differentiate roads with their uses and provide road system according
to these uses.
2. Provide adequate, accessible, safe and attractive (in terms of layout)
car parking spaces. There should be proper and adequate parking
space for heavy vehicles especially tour buses, trucks and lorries.
3. Provide adequate traffic information within in Airport City
4. There should be fewer segregation of space by road.
5. Design urban space in a way that considers views from the road or
highway. Good view points or vistas of the city centre or a particular
building/landmark should be considered.
6. Provide comfortable walking and cycling environment that can
enhance more human-scale communication and interaction.
7. The use of natural resources in designing pedestrian and cycling space
to create and better micro-climate and articulating 'sense of place' and
'sense of belonging'.
