4.4.1.1. Economische situering van het electronica -onderzoek.
Ik denk dat het gepast is eerst een economische situering te geven van de electronicamarkt,
teneinde het Vlaams electronica-onderzoek beter te kunnen situeren. De
electronicamarkt kan opgesplitst worden in een systeemmarkt (equipment market) en
een componentenmarkt. Deze grote onderverdelingen kunnen nog eens opgedeeld
worden. Om het belang van al deze onderverdelingen aan te geven, vermeld ik de
omzetcijfers van de US markt in 1989, en dit uitgedrukt in MIA $.
