First held in 1885, the Koningsdag is a traditional<br />

festival in the Netherlands held to mark the birth<br />

of King Willem-Alexander. on this day, all of<br />

Amsterdam is dressed in orange. over 1 million<br />

people gather in the city center to participate<br />

in day-night parties, sports activities, and<br />

performances. Flea markets are open everywhere<br />

to sell items such as old toys, records, and books.<br />

An outdoor concert also takes place on this day.<br />

cherry blossom festival is held in Hirosaki<br />

Park, Aomori Prefecture, Japan. The<br />

park, which contains some 2,600<br />

cherry trees in full bloom, allow<br />

under tunnels of cherry<br />

blossoms. You can find some<br />

of the oldest Someiyoshino<br />

cherry trees that were planted<br />

Considered the most well-known festival<br />

in India, the Thhrissur Pooram Festival<br />

first began in 1789 to pay homage to the<br />

god Shiva at Kerala Temple in the city of<br />

Thrissur. The festival is held for 36 hours,<br />

starting at 6am and ending at 12 noon the<br />

following day. The highlight of the Thrissur<br />

Pooram festival is the parade of 30 beautiful<br />

elephants, who have been painted, wear<br />

gold jewelry on their heads, and walk<br />

through the streets.<br />
