To strengthen its research focus with an emphasis on M&A and corporate
valuation of smalland medium-sized enterprises and generously supported
by the Sparkasse Leipzig and the Ostdeutscher Sparkassen- und
Giroverband, HHL invites applications for a
JUNIOR PROFESSORSHIP
in Mergers and Acquisitions
of Small- and Medium Sized Enterprises
(four years with an extending option for two years)
Applicants should possess a superior doctoral degree in the relevant
area, the potential to develop an internationally recognized research reputation
within the field of Corporate Finance in general and within the
mentioned focus in particular, a strong potential for publications in leading
national and international academic journals. The successful candidate
is expected to prove an outstanding teaching ability for finance related
courses such as corporate valuation and risk management, a track
record of research funding as well as be fluent in English and German. In
addition, the successful candidate has competent knowledge in financial
modeling using analytical methods and has preferably professional experience
in corporate banking. Finally, the successful candidate should have
a strong commitment to working across disciplinary boundaries, and
to collaborate in terms of teaching and research with colleagues at HHL.
The requirements of § 63 SächsHSFG apply.
The pay scale classification for the advertised position complies with W1
salary provisions for a four year contract with an extending option for
another two years and a strong desire of HHL’s Executive Management
to convey the junior professorship into a full professorship thereafter.
