Erste Bank Kompositionspreis
Für die Etablierung eines neuen Werks ist es entscheidend, dass
innerhalb kurzer Zeit nach der Uraufführung mehrere Folgeaufführungen
stattfinden. Das Publikum sollte im Laufe eines Jahres Gelegenheit
haben, das neue Werk zumindest ein zweites Mal zu hören.
Der Erste Bank Kompositionspreis ist in dieser Weise strukturiert.
Mindestens drei Aufführungen innerhalb eines Zeitraums von zwölf
Monaten sind für das neue Werk gesichert. Die Aufführungen finden
im Rahmen von Wien Modern statt.
Darüber hinaus sichert der Erste Bank Kompositionspreis den ausgezeichneten
Komponisten und Komponistinnen durch Veröffentlichung
des neuen Werks auf einer Porträt-CD weitere Aufmerksamkeit.
Preisträgerin 2010 ist die 1973 in Zabrze (Polen) geborene Joanna
Wozny. Sie hat bereits zahlreiche Auszeichnungen für ihre Kompositionen
erhalten, wie u.a. das Österreichische Staatsstipendium, das
Andrzej-Dobrowolski-Stipendium des Landes Steiermark, den Musikförderungspreis
der Stadt Graz und das Stipendium der Stefan-
Batory-Stiftung/Warschau. Sie lebt und arbeitet in Graz.
Erste Bank Composition Prize
In establishing a new work it is decisive that as many further performances
as possible should be given within a short period after
the premiere. The public should be offered the opportunity to hear
the new work at least a second time within the course of a year. The
Erste Bank Composition Prize is structured to achieve this. The new
work is assured of a minimum of three performances within a period
of 12 months. These performances are given within the framework
of Wien Modern.
In addition, the Erste Bank composition prize ensures further public
attention for the prize-winning composers by releasing their new
work on a portrait CD.
The prize winner for 2010 is Joanna Wozny who was born in Zabrze
(Poland) in 1973. She has already received numerous awards for her
compositions, including the Austrian State Stipendium, the Andrzej-
Dobrowolski-Stipendium of the country of Styria, the Music Promotion
Prize of the City of Graz and the Stipendium of the Stefan-Batory-
Foundation/Warsaw. She lives and works in Graz.
