frequency. An important type of toxicity is prolonged GI toxicity, which consists<br />

of prolonged nausea—sometimes with vomiting—that may continue for many<br />

weeks. Since nutrition is difficult, patients may require tube feeding; any further<br />

planned courses of tCTC chemotherapy would need to be postponed.<br />

The occurrence of possibly irreversible alopecia was unanticipated in two<br />

patients. All other patients experienced normal regrowth of hair after discontinuing<br />

the protocol.<br />

Progression-free survival analysis<br />

At the time of writing this report, the median follow-up of the patients in this<br />

study was only 21 months, with a lead follow-up of 56 months. As a result, even<br />
