Phaunos have been seen frolicking throughout the forests of Fenorra for as long as anyone can remember. These goat-horned, furry legged people tend to live life at the extreme. Drinking, fighting, loving, nothing is done halfway, except perhaps hard work. Perhaps this is why there are no Phaunos scholars. Known in parts of Fenorra as “Goat people,” for the most part the Phaunos are an easy going people, enjoying a good time. However do not let them hear you use that slang term as it is considered highly offensive. Phaunos are a close-knit race tending to live in the forest grouped together in tribes. While each of these clans has their own traditions, there are a few things that remain universal. They do not use edged weapons and instead teach their young the art of the thrown weapon. Family units live together until their children mate, at which point those mates move towards the outskirts of the tribal land in order to learn to depend on one another. As their match matures, the pair will return to the main tribal lands to raise their brood amongst the rest of the tribe. The eldest members of the tribe, those reaching towards 200 years of age, live in the center of Phaunos their society, and their advice is often sought in times of need. This race is also taught to have a profound respect for nature from a young age. Even though it is not uncommon to find a Phauno chasing a Dryad throughout the forest, this is more of a game, than anything done out of malice. Some Fenorrans are having difficulty adjusting to the Phaunos who have chosen to live amongst normal townsfolk. Their loud, brash nature being a little more than the villagers can take. This isn’t to say that the Phaunos are not liked, just that their mannerisms are in sharp contrast to the somber attitudes of most villagers. Trying to explain this to a Phaunos though, would fall on deaf ears. They are a stubborn race, and much prefer pursuits of self-gratification, to listening to town politics or the woes of others around them. It is because of this hard headedness, that the Phaunos are unaffected by the charms of the vast majority. Although even this has their limits when it comes to vampyres, and Phaunos will discreetly cast their eyes aside to avoid notice. The varying types of lizard people have come to call themselves Saurians. They tend to live in large tribes and are found on just about every land mass on Fenorra. Saurians in general are a simple people and are untrusting of people outside their own kind. Even other Saurians outsides ones tribe may take time to trust. They are a very territorial people therefore tend to live apart from other civilizations. Their choice style of living is completely self sufficient. Saurians make great coastal dwellers as they are very talented swimmers, therefore are able to catch fish with ease. They tend to wear clothing made of simple cloths and leathers, bones as jewelry and such. They are a shamanistic people and will often use cleaned bones, shells or stones as means for divination. Tribes of Saurian can be found in any portion of Fenorra that is a moderate to warm temperature through the year. These people are extremely sensitive to cold and find it unpleasant to live where it is cold for more than a few months at a time. If travel through the cold is needed the Saurians will put warm rocks in their clothes to keep their bodies warm, their bodies cannot produce their own heat. Like wild lizards Saurian’s scales tend to blend in with their territory of choice. Tribes that live in the swamps tend to be deep browns and greens while coastal tribes will be a dustier light brown color etc. Their scales colors have never been noted as anything outside the natural earth tones such as browns, greens, grays and so on. Some even have tails. Saurian Saurians generally tend to be very snake like in their mannerisms while they have a normal intelligence. They have a normal understanding of magics and weapons. They prefer to use their own claws in battle but will at times use weapons and shields to accomplish what their bare claws cannot. In general the Saurian people have a short life span of 60 years on average.
