Times were adjusted for daylight savings time as appropriate. Shadows were
estimated for each study date at 9 AM, 12 Noon, 3 PM and 6PM.
The following section describes the estimated shadows under the Existing
Conditions depicted on Figures 5-4 thru 5-9. Following this description is a
summary of the estimated changes in the Project area shadows caused by each
element of the Project.
On February 5 and November 15, the sun rises between 6:36 and 6:54 AM in the
southeastern sky. At 9 AM nearly all of the sidewalks in the Project area are still
within shadows cast by adjacent buildings. The only sidewalks in sunlight at this
