e) Provisions contained in the Sub-clause (a) & (d)
above shall, however, not apply for the
following:-
Where the value of additions of new items
together with the value of alterations,
additions/deletions or substitutions does not
exceed by or is not less than plus/minus ()25%
of the VALUE OF CONTRACT. The item rates in
the Schedule of Rates shall hold good for all
such variations between the above mentioned
limits, irrespective of any increase/decrease of
quantities in the individual items of Schedule of
Rates.
Where the value of addition of new items
together with the value of alterations,
additions/deletions or substitutions reduces more
than 25% of the contract value but is within the
following limits the tenderer shall be paid
compensation for decrease in the value of work,
as follows:

compensated by an amount
equivalent to 10% of the
reduction in value of the
contract as awarded. For
example if the actual contract
value is 70% of awarded value
then compensation shall be
10% of (75-70) i.e. 0.5% of
awarded contract value.
II. For Lumpsum Contracts
CONTRACTOR shall, within 7 days of the date of receipt
of order to carry out the WORK, inform the
ENGINEER-IN- CHARGE of the rates which it is his
intention to charge for such class of WORK, supported by
analysis of the rate or rates claimed, and the
ENGINEER-IN-CHARGE shall determine the rate or
rates on the basis of the prevailing market rates, labour
cost at schedule of labour rates plus 10% to cover
contractor's supervision, overheads and profit and pay
the CONTRACTOR accordingly. The opinion of the
