Note: LU, which is <strong>in</strong>cluded <strong>in</strong> the EU-15 total, has a much higher GDP per head as measured than<br />

NL (220 <strong>in</strong> 1995, 244 <strong>in</strong> 2000, 274 <strong>in</strong> 2007 and 271 <strong>in</strong> 2011) but the level is artificially <strong>in</strong>creased by<br />

the large number of people who are employed <strong>in</strong> LU and contribute to GDP but live elsewhere and so<br />

are not counted <strong>in</strong> the calculation of GDP per head.<br />
