Drug-Free Workplace Policy<br />

Prohibitions<br />

_________________ will not employ an applicant who is under <strong>the</strong> influence.<br />

_________________ will not permit covered employees under <strong>the</strong> influence or<br />

convicted of a criminal drug statute violation to report for work or to continue working, unless<br />

__________ determines that this does not pose a work performance or safety problem. As<br />

appropriate, __________________ will:<br />

place such employees in an employee assistance program for remediation treatment,<br />

reassign employees,<br />

initiate disciplinary action, up to and including possible discharge and<br />

discharge employees failing to provide timely notification of a conviction.<br />

_________________ will not condone <strong>the</strong> unlawful manufacture, distribution,<br />

dispensing, possession or use of illegal drugs at work. Employees violating this provision are<br />

subject to discipline including discharge.<br />

Testing<br />

Applicants<br />

Drug testing will be announced as <strong>the</strong> final step in <strong>the</strong> employment process for all<br />

covered positions.<br />

After applicants for covered positions are given conditional job offers, <strong>the</strong>y will be<br />

provided with a copy of this policy and tested.<br />

If <strong>the</strong> conditional job offer is withdrawn as a result of drug testing, <strong>the</strong> applicant will be<br />

informed of <strong>the</strong> reason(s).<br />

Employees<br />

Random. Employees in safety sensitive jobs are subject to random testing.<br />

Work-related. Employees directly involved in any accident causing bodily injury will be<br />

immediately tested.<br />

Reasonable suspicion. Employees will be tested where a reasonable, specific,<br />

describable suspicion or probable cause exists based on <strong>the</strong>ir appearance, behavior, body odor or<br />

speech.<br />
