service or product that a Preferred Vendor offers, <strong>the</strong> Township/Borough shall first contact<br />

that Vendor for said service or product. The Township/Borough shall evaluate <strong>the</strong> program<br />

from time to time to ensure that it is working as anticipated by comparing prices from similar<br />

vendors. The Program is to be administered by <strong>the</strong> Township/Borough Bookkeeper with<br />

assistance of <strong>the</strong> Department Heads and oversight by <strong>the</strong> Manager.<br />

8) Emergencies and repairs of essential equipment are not necessarily subject to <strong>the</strong>se<br />

policies and guidelines. Depending on <strong>the</strong> severity of <strong>the</strong> situation, need, cost, and current time<br />

constraints, such purchases may be made immediately. The Township/Borough Manager shall<br />

be consulted on emergency purchases and repairs between $4,000 and $10,000 to discuss state<br />

purchasing law compliance issues. In any event, such emergency purchases shall be reported<br />

to <strong>the</strong> Township/Borough Manager as soon as possible and in turn <strong>the</strong> Board of<br />

Supervisors/Council at <strong>the</strong> next scheduled meeting.<br />

9) Invoices for goods and services shall be reviewed for accuracy, budget coded and initialed for<br />

payment by <strong>the</strong> appropriate Department Head prior to being placed on <strong>the</strong> Accounts Payable<br />

list.<br />

10) A list of invoices paid during each month shall be presented to <strong>the</strong> Board of<br />

Supervisors/Council at <strong>the</strong>ir regular monthly meetings.<br />
