The data for country regions (Exhibit 4.6(b)) are more spread out, but
that is to be expected with a larger sample. Interestingly, metropolitan
regions (Exhibit 4.6(a)) are estimated to achieve smaller increases in
output than the majority of country regions. The regions which obtain the
largest benefits are country regions (which is related to tourism impacts
discussed above).
The above results are based on impacts that apply nationally. Things may
change if some regions adopted e-commerce more rapidly than others,
reflecting policy or other impediments.
