The primary reasons for the delay are the lack of sufficient
know-how and the necessary specialists, the time
and effort needed to enter into cooperation and look for
solutions with neighbouring municipalities, challenges
to tender results, ill-defined aspects to waste handling
network and waste handling system in certain areas.
Over a period of 1.5 years (from the end of 2007 to
middle of 2009) the price of waste transport service on
the so-called free market rose about 35%. At the same
time, prices in organized waste transport areas have
remained the same or grown by a few per cent as the
service has been launched. In addition to stable prices,
the price level in the given areas is on average 50% less
than on the free market.
